“The first conversation I had with him (during 2019) was World Cup after the game in Manchester. Imad (Wasim), whom I have known since U-19 cricket as we played against each other, said that Babar wanted to chat. We sat down, talked about the game,” Kohli told Star Sports.

Babar is currently the No. 1 ranked batsman in the ICC T20I rankings and has become one of the best in the business over the years.

Kohli lauded Babar’s humility despite being the top batsman in world cricket across all formats at the moment. The former India captain said that he enjoys watching the premier batsman play.

“I saw a lot of respect and respect for him from day one. And that hasn’t changed, regardless of the fact that he is probably the top batsman in the world at the moment, who continues to do well. Well, he has amazing talent. I’ve always seen him play.”

Babar recently supported the Indian captain with a special message on Twitter after several former cricketers were criticizing Kohli for his lean patch.

The premier India batsman further spoke about his attitude towards Babar and lauded his frozen cricketing foundation.

“He (his behavior) has not changed because he is performing now and that is coming into his own. I don’t see their attitude or their attitude towards me changing, which is a very good sign for someone who relies heavily on the foundation of their upbringing. Their cricketing foundation is also very strong,” said the former India captain.

Kohli further congratulated the Pakistan captain and said that players like him are an inspiration to many and are the key to making things exciting in the world of cricket.

“Such players, characters go a long way. They inspire many people. I see that happening to him as well. I congratulated him on how he was playing and I told him how wonderful it was to watch. I wish him all the best and he deserves it all. After all, you need players like him to keep world cricket exciting.”
