Yoga Day celebrated in West Bengal

With the theme ‘Yoga for Humanity’, International Day of Yoga 2022 was celebrated with enthusiasm and fervor across the state on Tuesday. It was celebrated in schools and educational institutions through various social intention associations.

Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Suvendu Adhikari also participated in a Yoga Day program on the banks of the Hooghly river near Howrah station.

At the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) organized celebrations and promoted the importance of yoga. He used AAI’s multi utility building complex for his celebration. The day was also marked by Metro Railway and Arun Arora, General Manager, Metro Railway and other senior officers participated in a yoga session at Belvedere Park Railway Officers Club.

State Bank of India collaborated with Ramakrishna Math, Gourhati to celebrate International Day of Yoga.

A yoga camp was established at Vrindavani Maidan in Malda district in which several yoga asanas were practiced simultaneously.

ISKCON also marked the day amidst the serenity of Mayapur Ghats in Nadia district. Around 500 devotees performed yoga at Mayapur’s Srila Prabhupada Ghat, near the Hooghly river, after the inauguration ceremony by ISKCON Mayapur CEO Braja Vilas Das.
