According to an email to franchisees seen by The Wall Street Journal, executives informed the burger chain’s franchisees this week that they will have to undergo more rigorous reviews every 20 years in order to keep their restaurants. McDonald’s will consider new factors, such as performance history, as it asks owners to apply to retain their locations. The company will consider new factors, such as customer complaints, to determine which McDonald’s franchisees can add new locations.
