WSJ News Exclusive | Lyft lays off about 60 employees, rents out cars for riders

lift Inc. has shed about 60 people while braking rent your car to riders and strengthening its global operations team, according to an employee memo reviewed by the Wall Street Journal and people familiar with the matter.

People said the cuts cover less than 2% of employees and primarily affected employees who work in operations. In a memo to some employees sent Tuesday, the company said it was turning that part of its business into allowing consumers to rent its fleet of cars on the app.
