Conde ready to join Barcelona

At one stage, seemingly set to join Chelsea, Jules Condé is now on the verge of joining FC Barcelona.

Thomas Tuchel’s side had agreed individual terms with the player and a £55m fee with Sevilla, but this has proved not enough.

The centre-back is believed to be in favor of moving to Camp Nou on a spell in the Premier League.

According to the Guardian, Chelsea are now close to walking away from talks to bring Sevilla centre-back Jules Conde to Stamford Bridge.

As of the end of last week, talks were at an advanced stage and the 23-year-old France international was on the verge of moving to west London, but things have since stalled, as Barcelona maneuvered to sign Conde from Andalusian . club, and has been offered by Chelsea for a fee of less than £55m.

Following a takeover led by Todd Boehli, Chelsea have brought in Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly.

Pogba injured his knee

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has suffered a knee injury and has been ruled out of Tuesday’s friendly against Barcelona in Dallas, Texas, the Serie A club said.

The Turin-based club did not disclose an estimated recovery time, but said the 29-year-old would see a specialist in the next few hours and continue treatment.

“After complaining of pain in his right knee, Paul Pogba underwent a radiological examination, which revealed a lateral meniscus lesion,” the club said in a statement.

The French international, who returned to the club as a free agent after six seasons at Manchester United, could miss the start of the Serie A season. Juventus hosted Sassuolo in their opening match on 15 August.
