WGAI Women’s Pro Golf Tour: Panchkula golfer Amandeep Dral takes lead on day one

Panchkula golfer Amandeep Dral took advantage of playing in home conditions and carded a flawless opening four-under-68 to take the lead on the opening day of the 10th leg of the WGAI Women’s Pro Golf Tour. Chandigarh Golf Club on Wednesday.

Leading the WGAI WPGT Order of Merit, Drell took a one-shot lead from amateur golfer Avani Prashanth, who had carded a round three-under-69 to finish second.

Drelle, who has been playing in the Ladies European Tour Access Series over the past few months, made a confident start, leveling the first two holes, before putting up her first birdie on the third hole. He finished front-nine with an under-35 score before a birdie on the tenth hole. He then birdies on the 14th and 16th holes, respectively, as well as leveled the other holes to end the day with four-under-68s to take the lead.

Prashant bowled a birdie on the second hole before bogging down on the ninth hole and ended the front nine on par. The back-nine saw Prashant sinking three birdies as he finished the round with a three-under-69.

Sahar Atwal and Jhanvi Bakshi leveled in the one-under-71 round and finished third.

Atwal and Bakshi scored the same score in the opposite round. Sehar made two birdies in nine, while Jahnavi made two bogeys. However, on the last nine, Sehar made two birdies against three bogeys, while Jhanvi made three birdies and no bogey.

Vaani Kapoor leveled and finished fifth in round one of the par 72 with amateur golfer Puneet K Bajwa, who also leveled. Gaurika Bishnoi was placed seventh along with Pranavi Urs, Rhea Saravanan and Hitashi Bakshi as each of them scored three over-75s. Chandigarh-based golfer Sania Sharma was ranked 11th along with Jyotsna Singh and Anisha Agarwal.
