Euride, which already operates in several other B.C. communities, launched Friday in the North Okanagan city.

The company says it’s starting with a few dozen drivers in Vernon and looking to recruit more.
Like well-known ride-hailing businesses Uber and Lyft, which are not currently available in the Okanagan, Uride has an app.
Customers can login to order a ride.

While this is the first ridesharing company to market Vernon, Euride says this was not intentional.
“Being first was never that important. We know we have a great track record in B.C. [Vernon] That was definitely in our sight from the start,” said Dhami.
“Happy to be the first one. Happy to be here to help the people of Vernon.”

Right now pick-up is only within Vernon city limits, but riders can request to be dropped off anywhere.
The business aims to eventually expand to other neighboring North Okanagan communities.
