Vendor’s life saved in robbery, Srinagar SSP gave Rs 1 lakh

City’s Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Choudhary took the residents of Srinagar in a heartfelt gesture by giving Rs 1 lakh from his personal savings to a local vendor who had lost all his savings in a dacoity the day before.

Srinagar SSP Sandeep Choudhary today earned generous praise not only from the people of the city but also from the netizens on social media as the news of his gesture went viral.

Rehman (90), a local vendor, had earned Rs 1 lakh by selling breakfast in Bohrikadal area of ​​Srinagar.

Rehman alone, with no one to support his family, had saved money for his funeral.

But a day before a burglary at his residence leaves him restless as the robbers fled with his entire life’s savings.

Srinagar SSP again stepped in. Not only was an FIR registered and investigation initiated, the SSP also gave Rs 1 lakh to Rehman from personal savings, till the stolen money was recovered.

Police sources said that Rehman was relieved to get help.

“Investigation in such cases may take time. It is our endeavor to nab the culprits as soon as possible. Until we arrest the robbers, it was important to help the elderly vendor, who spent his entire life leading a dignified life,” said sources in the Srinagar police.
