Grayson Murray hits his rough out Fourth round at the US Open On your iron and your putter on a Sunday afternoon.
Murray who cut Major tournaments for the first Time in his career, during the final round, remained at the bottom of the leaderboard.
He would triple bogey on the seventh hole and then launch his putter in anger.
Murray’s second shot on the 10th hole fell into the rough near the bunker. Then he started trying to break the iron from above his knee. He’ll eventually bow to it.
He was 10-over through the first 13 holes in the final round and four of the 18-overs in the tournament.
It was Murray’s second appearance at the US Open. He was feeling hopeless on a tough country club course in Brookline, Massachusetts. He last participated in the US Open in 2013 but missed the cut.
He last made the cut in a major PGA Championship in 2017, He finished 22nd in that tournament.
Murray has one PGA Tour victory to his credit – the 2017 Barbasol Championships.
He finished the Rex Hospital Open, a Corn Ferry Tour event, finishing 37th with a 6-under par. He had previously pulled out of the Evans Scholars Invitational.
