UP polls: BJP’s OBC front to counter impact of sudden exit of important non-Yadav faces – Bharat Times Hindi News

The BJP has decided to use its OBC front to counter the potentially negative impact of abandonment by backward caste leaders in Uttar Pradesh.

The Morcha is tasked with reaching out to the leaders of the OBC community at the local level and raising awareness on the welfare measures implemented by the Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath governments to benefit the community.

Under this program, the BJP OBC Morcha will reach out to the community by holding small meetings or associating with influential personalities.

The plan is to counter the narrative being set up by some non-Yadav OBC leaders who have quit the BJP in the past few days. Uttar Pradesh has 39 percent OBC voters, of which 7 percent are Yadavs.

“We will compare his tenure with our tenure. The Samajwadi Party will have to answer why it did not support constitutional status to the Backward Commission. Why did PM Modi have to do this? If they are so concerned about the community, why did Congress object to the bill when it was introduced in Parliament? Who are the main beneficiaries of all those schemes for the poor? The people of the backward caste got the benefit of this. All these people never talked about reservation. Parivar ke thekedar hai sab (they are ruled by the dynasty),” said BJP OBC Morcha president K Laxman.

The Morcha held its state executive meeting in Ayodhya in September, which was attended by the chief minister.

“We have organized 17 social conferences at district and mandal level in UP so far. We are ready to do it virtually as well,” Laxman said.

He also said that the Modi-Yogi government has taken steps for the welfare of OBCs, including constitutional status to the National Commission for Backward, 27 per cent government-approved reservation for OBCs in medical education and giving teeth to the commission if these decisions are taken. is included. Violation. is included. ,

“In this financial year, in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Schools and Law Universities, OBCs will get reservation and lakhs of students will benefit from it. In NEET (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test), 27 percent reservation was given for undergraduates and graduates, while 10 percent reservation was given to economically backward castes. The Modi government also created a separate ministry for fisheries,” Laxman said.

He further said that during his cabinet reshuffle, the PM gave due representation to the community. “We did ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ for those ministers across the country. Like the Modi government, no other prime minister or party has paid attention to the political representation of OBCs. The Congress and the opposition, including the SP, did not even allow us to present those ministers in the House.

He said that the state cabinet minister Dara Singh Chouhan’s party is hopeful as he has not attended even a single Morcha meeting. Laxman pulled up his predecessor for joining the SP to quit the BJP ahead of the assembly elections.

Laxman, who is in charge of securing OBC support ahead of the elections, said Chouhan’s “personal agenda” was central to his decision to quit the party. “He has a personal agenda. The reason for his departure is different from what he is telling people. He had put forth some demands which were not fulfilled. He has not resigned for the welfare of the society,” Laxman said.

In his resignation letter, Chouhan had termed the BJP “anti-OBC and anti-poor”. There were no other ministers in Chouhan Yogi’s cabinet. He was the National President of BJP OBC Morcha.

“Dara Singh Chouhan never uttered a word of protest against any policy of the government within the party platform. Ever since I became the national president, we have held several meetings of the Morcha, but they never attended despite invitations.” Was.
