UN to hold new talks between Libyan rivals

Tripoli: The United Nations said on Thursday it would hold new talks next week between rival institutions in war-torn Libya to try to break the impasse over rules for the long-awaited elections.

“(Parliament Speaker) Aguila Saleh and High Council of State President Khalid al-Misri have accepted my invitation to discuss the draft constitutional framework for elections at the United Nations Office in Geneva on June 28-29,” The top Libyan official of the United Nations, Stephanie Williams, tweeted.
