Two arrested for selling cookies made from cannabis in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Sunday said it has arrested two persons for allegedly selling cookies containing cannabis and other narcotic substances outside a restaurant in Gandhinagar.

Acting on a tip-off that some persons were involved in the storage, sale and distribution of cannabis-based drugs to customers during operations outside a restaurant in Gandhinagar, ATS officials arrested two persons from a food joint, It said in a release.

“Both the accused were arrested from outside the restaurant with cannabis-based drugs like CBD and THC cookies, CBD oil concentrate and hash, weighing 294.5 grams and valued at Rs 41,000,” the ATS said.

The special police force said the accused, identified as Ankit Kulhari and Jaikishan Thakor, were arrested under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act after an FIR was registered at the Adalaj police station in Gandhinagar.

It said that the investigation of the crime has been handed over to the Gandhinagar Special Operations Group.
