A ruling TRS worker was stabbed to death on Monday in a village in Telangana’s Khammam district. The deceased Tammineni Krishnaiah was returning by bike after attending the Independence Day flag hoisting ceremony. Four men in an auto chased him and stopped him.
A police officer said they stabbed him to death and fled the spot. Special teams have been formed to nab the culprits.
Meanwhile, the supporters of the deceased tried to pelt stones at the house of a person belonging to another political party, who was absconding on suspicion of his involvement. The house of the absconding youth is near the crime scene. However, the police brought the situation under control, the official said.
There are allegations of involvement of the absconding man and the facts including the motive of murder will be known after investigation, the official said.
