Tiktok user movies ignore flashing red X lights, zooming in on stopped traffic near Leeds

The motorist – known simply as Danielle – posted the video TIC Toc It was captioned as ‘The manly urges to leave the queue or I will take off my pants.’

The driver filmed himself crossing solid white lines at a cross-hatching as a long line of cars waited patiently on the third lane.

A reckless driver has posted a video on TikTok in which he is weaving in closed lanes on a smart motorway in South Yorkshire to get out of the queue.

They then left behind a number of warning signs indicating that the lanes were closed weaving between the lanes.

At one point Daniels drives under a red X sign indicating that all three left lanes are closed.

Red X Under Lane indicates closed lanes for broken vehicles safety, maintenance work or other safety reasons on Smart Motorway.

Daniels then jumps from lane three and joins the queue when he finds a gap in a long column of cars.

The driver was on a smart motorway 12 miles from the Leeds M1.

Between 2014 and 2019, 38 people died on smart motorways.

Concerns are growing about such motorways after several fatal accidents involving the rear of stationary vehicles.

Furious motorists blasted TikToker online for reckless driving.

Simon Rhodes said: ‘One day we will see someone jumping a red X and driving over the wreckage, which will hopefully destroy their car’.

Lucy Woodham said: ‘People are saying he’s merging right but he’s literally driving through closed lanes on the motorway.

The driver, who had probably expected praise for its time-saving technology, created a backlash against himself.

‘So yes it is wrong.’

Tom Walford said: ‘Hopefully a fine will be delivered to your door.’

Another added: ‘Aren’t you driving in a closed street in the white line and undertow.

‘And people like you are allowed on the streets, dear God.’

On the other hand, others praised the driver for his driving knowledge.

Dan Collier said: ‘After all, someone knows how to drive.’

Another addition: ‘When cones block lanes you should merge at the merge point. [But] not already well. Some people can’t drive.
