according to a facebook post From the Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Ramon Gutierrez, 45, “was getting off his motorcycle, blocking the exit ramp, when a female driver (40) drove around the motorcycle and hit Sergeant Gutierrez.”
In a Facebook post, the HCSO said that the driver, who was showing signs of intoxication, fled the spot, but was later stopped by another deputy. Multiple charges are being filed, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez told reporters during a news conference on Monday.
The HCSO said Gutierrez was taken aboard a Lifeflight in critical condition and later died in hospital.
Gonzalez said Gutierrez served HCSO for nearly 20 years. Gonzalez said Gutierrez is survived by his wife and three children.
“There’s no word for what they’re doing,” Gonzalez said.
