The condition of the young man still remains critical after being hit by the van
Nottinghamshire Police say a man remains in a serious condition in hospital after a van was run over in Milton Street.
The force has referred another incident for monitoring to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) after a marked police car followed the vehicle for a short distance before hitting another two pedestrians in Sherwood Street.
The IOPC confirmed that it was “assessing the referral to decide whether further action may be required.”
The 31-year-old suspect was arrested at 5.30 am when the van was finally intercepted.

The incident happened at the Larkshall Medical Center in Chingford, which led to the closure of surgeries after it was declared a major incident. Two of the victims, aged 15 and 16, were stabbed in the chest while the third, aged 17, was stabbed in the stomach. At the time, Dr. Kumar told the press: “We thought both men might have collapsed lungs because they were having trouble breathing, and they were really scared and in a state of emotion.” Grace’s family paid tribute to the medical student whose ambition was to become a doctor like her father. Speaking to the Mail Online, her family said: “She will be greatly missed. We were very proud of Grace’s achievements and what a truly lovely person she was. She was resilient and wise beyond her years.” Fulfilling her ambition of studying to become a doctor while playing topflight hockey at university. “She leaves behind devastated extended family and friends.” A vigil was held on the main campus of Nottingham University yesterday and relatives of Grace and Barnaby could be seen embracing, The Mirror reports.
