South Delhi residents will now be able to book parking slots through a new app that will provide real-time information on parking spaces under South MCD. Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Thursday launched an app named ‘MyParking’.
Using the app, residents can book in advance or on the spot. The app also provides flexibility in the selection of slots. It also has features such as digital parking solutions, paperless check-in and vehicle check-out option, shared parking for security and recall, and a display of amenities and facilities in and near parking spaces.
SDMC operates 145 ground floor parking spaces in its four areas, in addition to six multi-level parking spaces and two automated parking spaces.
During the launch, Thakur said that the app provides information about the total capacity of vehicles to be parked in SDMC parking spots, the space used for parking and the space available for parking in each site.
This app has been developed by Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (BECIL) with SDMC to digitize all authorized parking under municipal limits of the civic body.
SDMC commissioner Gyanesh Bharti said the app will also be integrated with the VAHAN app, fast tag, e-challan and other government initiatives.
BECIL will also set up and run a dedicated call center for citizens as a customer service unit to address queries and issues related to the use of the App. The call center will also handle complaints and grievances.
