Sonia Gandhi to join ED probe today, security beefed up

Ahead of the questioning of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday in the National Herald case, Delhi Police has made elaborate security arrangements in the entire Lutyens’ Zone of the national capital.

Sonia Gandhi will reach Pramanathan Bhawan, ED office at APJ Abdul Kalam Road by 11 am.

Paramilitary forces have been deployed in and around the probe agency’s headquarters, along with additional police teams.

Police is checking every vehicle and interrogating all the people going towards APJ Abdul Kalam Road.

Delhi Traffic Police has said that due to special arrangements there will be heavy traffic movement at Gol Methi Junction, Tughlaq Road Junction, Claridges Junction, Q-Point Junction, Sunhari Masjid Junction, Maulana Azad Road Junction and Man Singh Road till 2 pm. confluence.

The ED had questioned Sonia Gandhi for hours on July 21.

He was initially called to appear again on 25 July, but it was changed to 26 July at his request.

On Tuesday, the team led by Additional Director Monika Sharma will interrogate the Congress President.

On July 21, he was accompanied by his son Rahul Gandhi and daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

Sources have suggested that Sonia Gandhi was asked about the same questions that were asked during her five-day questioning of Rahul Gandhi.
