On an average, only 41 per cent votes were polled till 5 pm on Thursday in the by-elections to Azamgarh and Rampur Lok Sabha seats in the two Samajwadi Party bastions held an hour before polling closed.

Agartala: In the by-elections to four assembly seats of Tripura, 76.62 per cent voter turnout was recorded till 5 pm on Thursday. The voting process was largely peaceful except for the stabbing of an off-duty constable. PTI
So far only 37 per cent voting has taken place in Rampur, which was vacated after SP leader Azam Khan went to the assembly. In 2019, the final percentage was 63.19.
Azamgarh, represented by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, recorded 45.97 per cent voter turnout till 5 pm before being elected to the assembly in the last assembly elections.
