Shares of companies invested by late billionaire investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala closed on a mixed note on Tuesday. The 62-year-old investor, known as the ‘Big Bull’ and ‘Warren Buffett’ India He passed away on Sunday for his investing acumen.

Jhunjhunwala had invested in over three dozen companies, including the most valuable watch and jewelery maker Titan, part of the Tata Group. Titan closed 0.88 per cent higher at Rs 2,493.65. It rose 1.09 per cent to Rs 2,499 during the day.

Among the companies in his portfolio, Aptech shares closed 0.04 per cent lower at Rs 232.65 on the BSE, falling 5.92 per cent to Rs 218.95 during the day. Shares of Metro Brands fell 1.36 per cent to Rs 842.70. During the day, it closed 3.13 per cent lower at Rs 827.50 on the BSE.

Agro Tech Foods fell 0.62 per cent. Among gainers, Star Health climbed 1.62 per cent to Rs 707.40, falling 4.79 per cent to Rs 662.75 in intra-day trade.

Tata Motors rose 2.55 per cent, Nazra Technologies 2.44 per cent, NCC Ltd 2.09 per cent, Indian Hotels 1.32 per cent, Crisil 1.02 per cent and Titan Company 0.88 per cent. Among other companies, Canara Bank rose 0.54 per cent and Rallis India by 0.13 per cent.

According to Trendline data, Jhunjhunwala and its associates held 32 stocks in the public domain with total assets of over Rs 31,905 crore at the end of June 2022 quarter. On Tuesday, the 30-share benchmark index of BSE closed at 59,842.21 points, up 379.43 points or 0.64 per cent.

The stock markets remained closed on Monday on the occasion of Independence Day.
