A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Sunday said that six terrorists of the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) were gunned down by security forces in an operation in the Central Makran Mountain Range near Parroom in Balochistan.

According to the army’s media wing, the security forces launched an operation in the general area of the Central Makran mountain range on information about the presence of terrorists in the area.

“As the troops started the evacuation operation, the terrorists tried to escape from their hideout and opened fire on the security forces,” the ISPR said.

“Six terrorists belonging to BLF have been killed in the exchange of fire. These terrorists were involved in the recent imposition of IEDs on the convoys of security forces in Panjgur’s Purum and adjoining areas besides attacks on security forces posts,” the army’s media wing said.

The ISPR said the forces have also recovered arms and ammunition that were to be used to disrupt peace and security in the area.

“The security forces, in step with the nation, are determined to thwart attempts to sabotage the peace, stability and progress of Balochistan,” the ISPR vowed.
