The Supreme Court Bar Association on Thursday filed a petition in the Supreme Court for review of the court’s decision. May 17 verdict On the interpretation of Article 63-A, which deals with the status of MPs who have defected.
On May 17, a larger Supreme Court bench had given a 3-2 slip on the President’s reference, seeking the court’s interpretation of Article 63-A, which a majority of the judges had said from their parties. The dissenting MPs will not vote. The four examples mentioned under the article will be counted.
These four examples are the election of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister; vote of confidence or no-confidence motion; a Constitution Amendment Bill; And a money bill.
