Acting Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Muhammad bin Saud Al-Tamimi, inaugurated the Future Space Center in Riyadh on Wednesday, June 23 in the presence of Weiking Chen, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom. Under Secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Leader of the Capacity-Building Track at the Saudi Space Authority, Eng. The presence of Faris Al-Sakabi and Mr. Adnan Al-Sharqi, Deputy Minister of Investment, and Mr. Eric Yang, CEO of Huawei, to raise awareness of the future of the space sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in addition to supporting the private sector and international companies , thus reinforcing the state’s position as a center of technology in the region, as well as increasing cooperation and partnerships with the private sector, which contributes to enabling knowledge transfer and development of the sector, in addition to , in addition to continuing efforts in support of the transformation of the digital economy and raising awareness in it.
The Future Space Center offers a unique experience by simulating spacecraft and the way they operate. The center also diversifies with many other facilities that enrich the experience of space and technology.
The “Future Space” center is the largest exhibition center outside China, as it houses many cutting-edge technologies, including autonomous driving, 3D printing, robotics and other innovative technologies. The “Future Space” centre, which is considered the first exhibition of its kind in the Kingdom, is spread over an area of 1,500 square meters and will provide young innovators an opportunity to introduce themselves and showcase their innovations.
The opening of the center is expected to attract approximately 200,000 visitors over the next five years.
