The 43-year-old comedian was forced to stop the show and apologize to other audience members as the woman stood up from the crowd and stopped her, forcing the star to intervene.

In a video clip shared online, Romesh can be seen saying ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry’ to the audience members soon after the woman abused her.

The video then sees the woman being dragged out of her seat and out of the auditorium as the audience begins to sing: ‘Cheerio, cheerio, cheerio!’

An audience member who filmed the incident expressed his shock at the scenes, commenting: ‘He’s being kicked out! He is being dragged!’

Addressing the crowd after the incident, The Weekest Link presenter said: ‘Do you know anything? Let me tell you honestly, I have really mixed feelings about it, because I found it very distracting.

“So I apologize for that and that’s why I’m glad it’s been dealt with.”

Meanwhile, in a clip obtained by Sun, Romesh is seen reacting in shock soon after hearing the abuse, as he asked her to ‘shut the f**k up’ and question: ‘What’s going on?’

The Sun states that the abuse began when Romesh made a joke about racism in football, quipping: ‘I’d rather be a p**i than a scouse’, which is said to have been a male spectator. The member started chanting: ‘Milwall!’

Responding to the man, Romesh is said to have commented: ‘Why are you telling everyone that you are a racist?’, which he is said to have referred to the star as ‘racist slurs’ The woman was turned down for starting to shout.

The source added that the man had uttered the racial slur: ‘hip-hop coconut’ and explained how it was ‘horrible gross racism’ before applauding Romesh’s way of handling things.
