Tom Brady Reflect On the career of Rob Gronkowski As the tight end announced for the second time that he would be retiring from the NFL.
Brady posted a tribute to his longtime partner on his Instagram account. together, Brady and Gronkowski win Four Super Bowl titles, and the quarterback threw the tight end 84 touchdown passes in the playoffs—the most for any pair in postseason history.
“Team mate, friend, bro, just a few words that come to my mind when I think of @Gronk. No one has ever embodied the idea of ’leaving it on the field’ quite like Rob has done throughout his career. Every single snap, I knew no matter how many people you put in front of him, he was going to go in his place,” Brady wrote on instagram,
“Even more important is the person he was off the field. Stay focused when he had to be, and enjoy the rest of the time. Having Gronk in your locker room was every NFL player’s dream. I’m so proud of everyone who did.” We have accomplished what we have done together, and are even more excited for what lies ahead of you.
“Congratulations Gronk, you deserve it.”
Gronkowski had a second round selection new England Patriots in 2010. In his second season, he led the NFL with 17 touchdown catches, and his emergence began to change the way NFL teams used tight ends.
He would play in 115 games for the Patriots, catching 521 passes for 7,861 yards and scoring 79 touchdowns. He will leave it after the 2018 season, citing injury concerns.
However, once Tom Brady left the Patriots for the Buccaneers Before the 2020 season, it was enough for Gronkowski to come out of retirement to play at Tampa Bay.
He would help bring the Buccaneers to the Super Bowl during that year and score two touchdowns in the game to give Tampa Bay their second title in franchise history.
Last season, Gronkowski played only 12 games due to injury, and did not make it to the Super Bowl after Tampa Bay won the division title.
He finished his career with 92 touchdowns and 621 catches for 9,286 yards. His touchdown catches are the third-highest between tight ends, and his fifth-highest receiving yards between tight ends.
