Ricky Williams reveals the eyebrow-raising ways NFL players were treating the pain

Williams, who played for the Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints And before the Baltimore Ravens were called a career, they were suspended multiple times for violating the league’s substance abuse policy for testing positive for marijuana.

“I played a long time ago, and I played for a long time. So things have changed a lot since I first got into the league,” Williams said.

“My rookie year, a Hall of Fame player on the team, he’s in the Hall of Fame now, invited me over to his house and he gave me a speech on how to take care of myself in the NFL. And he took out some cannabis, crushed it , broke a blunt, cut it open, put cannabis in there, took a Vicodin, crushed it, sprinkled vico in there, twisted the blunt and passed it to me. He was a vet, teaching me as a rookie How to take care of yourself in the NFL.

Williams entered the league in 1999 when the Saints took him to number 5 overall and gave the then-Washington Redskins several options to move on to get him.
