Religious scholars will monitor the curriculum taught in educational institutions: Shahbaz Gill

Lahore: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill has said that the curriculum of educational institutions should nurture the mindset of the students in line with Islamic life and ethics.

Speaking at the convocation ceremony of Minhaj University on Sunday, Mr Gill said there is a need to correct misconceptions about Islam.

He said the Rahmatul-l-Alameen authority has been set up and the government is engaging Islamic scholars from around the world to oversee the curriculum being taught to students in educational institutions.

On the lynching of a Sri Lankan national in Sialkot, he said that every Pakistani felt shame over the incident and such incidents should not be repeated in the country in future.

He said that educational institutions should develop the character of the students.

Mr. Gill commended Minhaj University for meeting the challenges of the modern world by introducing degrees and research in maritime affairs as well as gaming.

Punjab government spokesperson Hasan Kharwar also spoke on the occasion.
