‘Rawalpindi Express’: Shoaib Akhtar announces biopic on his life

Lahore: Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar on Monday confirmed that a biopic titled “Rawalpindi Express” is being made on his life.

The former cricketer shared the motion poster of the film on his official Instagram and Twitter accounts.

On Instagram, he wrote that the film is currently under production and will feature some never-before-seen facts from his life.

Akhtar said in his post that the film is being directed by Faraz Qaiser and produced by Q Film Productions. Akhtar wrote that this is the first international film to be made on the life of a Pakistani cricketer.

“The beginning of this beautiful journey. Announcing the launch of Meri Kahani, Meri Jeevan, Meri Biopic, Rawalpindi Express – Race Against Odds. You are ready for a ride you have never taken before. First foreign film about a Pakistani sportsperson. Controversially yours, Shoaib Akhtar,” he tweeted.

Shoaib Akhtar made his debut in December 1997 against the West Indies. He became the fastest bowler in the world in the 2003 World Cup, as he bowled at 100.2-mph in England’s Nick Knight with a 100-mph pace.
