It has been the talk of the town ever since the announcement of Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra. The makers recently gave a glimpse of the Ayan Mukerji directorial with its trailer. While fans are praising the trailer, a section of the audience was reportedly annoyed with one of its scenes. This special visual features Ranbir Kapoor Entering the temple without taking off the shoes. Many people objected to the scene and condemned the makers.
On Sunday, Ayan Mukerji took the lead in reaching out to people and explaining how Brahmastra “respects” India’s culture, tradition and its history. “There were some people in our community who were upset because of a shot in our trailer – Ranbir’s character who rings the bell and wears shoes. As a producer (and a devotee) of this film, I am humbled by what happened here. Wanted to address her. In our film Ranbir is entering Durga Puja pandal, not in the temple. My own family has been organizing similar Durga Puja celebrations for 75 years! One of which I was a part of since childhood. In my experience, we only take off our shoes, right on the platform where the goddess is, and not when you enter the pandal,” explained Ayan.
He continued, “It is important for me personally to reach out to anyone who may be disturbed by this image… because above all, Brahmastra is built as a film experience that honors, and celebrates. Indian culture, traditions and history. That’s why I made this film, so it’s very important to me that this feeling reaches every Indian who is watching Brahmastra!”
As soon as he shared the post, many appreciated how he addressed the issue. “Amazing work Ayan!!! The concept of this film and trailer is amazing, looking forward to the first show on the first day of Brahmastra,” read a comment. Another fan mentioned, “Your honor sir, you justified the reason in the second point. I hope this film will be a huge success.”
Earlier this week, Ayan thanked fans for the overwhelming response to the trailer. “Thank you wholeheartedly for the love, encouragement and enthusiasm the trailer is getting. It means… everything to me. I am feeling very energized today – as we enter this last phase before the film’s release! We will give all that energy and much more… our absolute best to give you guys – a wonderful new cinema experience with Brahmastra… one that I hope you will be proud of,” the note read.
