Rajasthan bypolls: 16 candidates to contest from Vallabhnagar, Dhariawad – India Times Hindi News

A total of 16 candidates are in the fray after scrutiny and withdrawal of nominations in the by-elections to be held in the Vallabhnagar and Dhariawad assembly seats of Rajasthan. Nine candidates are contesting from Vallabhnagar and seven from Dhariyawad.

Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that a total of 29 candidates filed 43 nomination papers under the nomination process. During scrutiny the nomination papers of six candidates were rejected while the nominations of 23 candidates were found correct. He told that on the last day of withdrawal of nominations on Wednesday, seven candidates withdrew their nominations. With this, 16 candidates will try their luck in both the assembly seats.

Polling in both the constituencies will be held on October 30 from 7 am to 6 pm, while the counting of votes will take place on November 2. A total of 5,11,455 voters will be able to exercise their franchise in both the assembly seats. In Vallabhnagar 2,53,831 and in Dhariyawad 2,57,624 voters are eligible to cast their votes.
