Raj Kundra to appear in Mumbai court; Businessman ‘key conspirator’, say police; One arrested in porn film case

Mumbai Police has arrested one more person for making obscene movies and publishing them through apps. An official gave this information on Tuesday.

The accused has been identified as Ryan Thorpe after investigation of the case and was arrested along with businessman Raj Kundra from his office on Monday night, a police official said.

Mumbai Police will produce arrested businessman Raj Kundra – husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty – in a court this afternoon and seek his remand, official sources said.

According to sources, Thorpe was working in a senior position in an app firm.

Earlier, police on Monday arrested Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Kundra (45) and said that he appears to be the “key conspirator” of the case.

A senior police officer had said that in February 2021, a case was registered with the Mumbai Crime Branch for making obscene films and publishing them through certain apps.

Another officer said that a woman approached the police and made certain allegations in her complaint, following which an FIR was registered against Kundra.

Based on the same, an FIR was registered and the case was transferred to the Crime Branch.

Earlier too, the police had registered cases related to pornography in which an actress and a few others were made accused, the official said.

Kundra has been booked under IPC sections 420 (cheating), 34 (general intent), 292 and 293 (relating to obscene and obscene advertisements and display), and relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act. I went. said. – with agencies
