Racial slur man arrested for spitting when asked to fix mask at Southington package store

SOUTHINGTON, CT (WFSB) – A man faces a felony charge of spitting, racial slurs, and refusing to follow a mask policy at a package store.

Daniel Henderson, 57, was arrested on October 27 for a springtime incident.

Police said Henderson had an active warrant for his arrest.

Back on April 9, officials said he entered the package store without a lefty fully wearing a mask and was upset when a victim asked him to recover.

Witnesses told police that Henderson became upset, spat at the victim and used racial slurs. He also said that he had threatened to damage the property before leaving.

Henderson was finally arrested this week after being located by Meriden police and charged with second-degree intimidation based on bigotry or prejudice and a second-degree breach of the peace.

He admitted to not wearing a mask at all and was upset with the victim at that time.

He was released on a $10,000 non-bailable bond and given a November 10 court date at New Britain Superior Court.
