Punjab government promoted 4 IPS officers to the rank of DGP

Chandigarh, June 23

The Punjab government on Thursday promoted four IPS officers of the 1992 batch to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP).

With these promotions, there are now eight DGPs in the state police.

Among those promoted today are Sharad Satya Chauhan, Harpreet Singh Sidhu, Gaurav Yadav and Kuldeep Singh. While Chouhan is heading the security wing, Sidhu heads the prison department. Yadav has been made Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Kuldeep Singh has been made in-charge of Internal Vigilance Cell.

Yadav is the son-in-law of former DGP PC Dogra and IAS/IPS/IRS training batchmate of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
