Patiala, 14 October
In another blow to the existing power scenario of Punjab, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited lost power supply from two thermal plant units on Thursday morning.
One unit each of Lehra Mohabbat and Talwandi Sabo thermal plants came to a standstill on Thursday, following which PSPCL again faced power shortage. One unit each of these two plants is already closed.
A senior PSPCL official said, “At present, we have two 660 MW units in Talwandi Sabo, 210 and 250 MW units in Lehar Mohabbat and 210 MW units in Ropar, which are not generating electricity. While the power scenario so far is manageable due to low pressure on agricultural generation power, we expect the domestic load to ease over the next four days due to change in weather.
