In a new video targeting Telangana minister KT Rama Rao and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, suspended state BJP leader T Raja Singh on Thursday spoke about the “communal atmosphere” in the state and the reasons behind it. In the video, he is saying that he is trying to explain the ongoing communal tension in the state. Raja Singh also called out the Telangana Police for being a “puppet in Owaisi’s hands”.
The controversial leader was once again arrested from his residence in Hyderabad for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad. In his new video, which was released before his arrest, he single-handedly blamed standup comic Munawwar Farooqui for the “communal situation” while inviting KTR to Hyderabad for an event where the comedian allegedly insulted the Hindu deities Rama and Sita.
Saying that he had opposed Farooqui’s program even three months ago, but at that time the police supported him and the program had to be cancelled. The controversial leader, considered a Hindutva fanatic, said he was taking out the video despite a court order directing him to refrain from attending or addressing the media. Raja Singh said he was taking a “risk” as he was “forced” to explain the reason behind the communal tension in Telangana.
“What is the reason behind the communal atmosphere prevailing in Telangana today? I have been keeping an eye on the national media since yesterday, and everyone has their own theories. Therefore, today I am taking the risk of standing in front of you for not addressing the media despite the court order. The current situation has demanded this video and I want to share my thoughts with all of you. I am compelled to try and explain the reason behind the communal violence in Telangana: standup comic Munavvar Farooqui,” the leader is heard saying in his video.
In his video, Singh attributes KT Rama Rao, as “the son of our chief minister”, for allowing Farooqui to organize an event in Hyderabad, where the comedian allegedly posed for “Lord Ram and Sita Maiyya”. (My Lord Ram)” about “derogatory” remarks. and Mata Sita)”. He also said that the CM’s son was “an atheist and does not believe in any God”.
“…Farooqui contacted KT Rama Rao, the son of our Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He contacted KT Rama Rao on Twitter and said that he wants to do an event in Hyderabad. So KT Rama Rao, an atheist and does not believe in any god, invites Faraki under police protection. He gets ‘Ram Bhakts’ lathi-charged and gets me arrested. And all this for a “chillar” comedian, Singh is saying in the video.
He says: “I had requested the top police officials not to invite anyone who has only made lewd comments about Lord Ram and Sita Maiya (my Lord Ram and Mother Sita). I appealed to KT Rama Rao and told him that I may die for Ram but TRS is playing this game for Muslim vote bank.
In the video, he is saying that TRS knew that if the program is cancelled, it will benefit the BJP in the state. And if not, TRS will be successful in garnering the support of Muslims.
