An 83-year-old man was stabbed to death in Saskatoon last week and police are searching for the suspect.

Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) said they are looking for Robert Paul Ouellet, who is charged with aggravated assault dagger on January 24 in the 2000 block of 20th Street.

Officers said they found the victim with stab wounds and was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

The SPS also noted that the victim and the suspect knew each other.

Police say residents should avoid going near Ouellette, and anyone with information should call 911 or 306-975-8300.
