ISLAMABAD: Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan and Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa “solve every issue together through consultations”.

“The same mechanism was adopted in the case of the appointment of the Director General of ISI,” Chowdhury said during a press conference in Islamabad on Thursday.

The minister said that “ambiguity regarding the appointment has been cleared”.

“The decision regarding the appointment of Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) will be taken in an atmosphere of trust”.

“PM Imran Khan said that in the entire history of the country, civil-military relations have never been as good as they are now,” Chowdhury said.

He said the prime minister attributed this to Army Chief General Bajwa, who had “always given institutional support to democracy and civilian leadership”.

He said that the Prime Minister said that the honor and dignity of the army is dear to the whole country.

The minister said DG ISI would be appointed “soon”, the process of which is already “ongoing”.

Briefing the media about the matters discussed in the meeting, Chowdhury said that Afghanistan remained the center of discussion.

He said that PM Imran Khan took the members of the MP party into confidence regarding the situation in the neighboring country.

“At present, Pakistan’s position is that we should not leave Afghanistan in this situation and aid should continue on humanitarian grounds,” Chaudhry said.

We are helping our Afghan brothers and want the whole world to help Afghans.

He said Pakistan relaxed visa conditions for Afghans and increased bilateral trade.

He said that the international community should also do its bit to maintain stability in Afghanistan.

Chowdhury said that PM Imran Khan also talked about inflation and said that the rise in international prices is the reason for the recent spurt in inflation in Pakistan.

The minister said that the international price of petrol, which was earlier $40 a liter, has now crossed $80.

Chaudhary said that the government has formulated a new economic policy to deal with the problem of inflation.

The minister announced that the government is going to launch three big projects in the month of November- Sehat Card, Kisan Card and Ehsaas Card.

“Health cards have been distributed in the entire province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and now it is Punjab’s turn,” Choudhary said.
