Panchkula: Fire in three shops in Sector 7 market

A massive fire broke out in Panchkula’s Sector 7 market in the early hours of Sunday, burning three shops to ashes. The famous Singh Sons Restaurant, along with another shop adjacent to the eatery, came under fire. The security personnel informed the fire department and shop owners about the fire at around 1.30 pm. Fire Officer Tarsem Singh said that four fire tenders were dispatched from Sector 5 fire station and one vehicle from Sector 20 fire station, Panchkula.

It took about three hours for the fire brigade team to douse the fire as no casualty or casualty was reported. Short circuit is said to be the main reason for the fire. People present on the spot reported about 3-4 LPG cylinders bursting. The damage caused by the fire is being assessed by the owners.

talking Indian Express Bobby Singh, shop owner of Singh Sons said, “We pulled down the shutters at 12.30 am and shortly after, I was informed by security about the fire. I came back and the fire brigade was already there. He put out the fire before it got bigger. Both my shops have completely burnt down.”
