The first step to recovery is to admit that you have a problem. But Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker still won’t, even though billionaire Ken Griffin said Thursday he is moving his Citadel hedge fund and securities trading firm from Chicago to Miami.

Mr Griffin noted in a letter to employees that many employees were struggling to move to other offices, including Miami. They just don’t want to escape the Chicago winter. Many are literally running for their lives in the midst of a crime escalation that shows no signs of abating. Incidents of theft in Chicago so far this year have increased by 65 percent compared to last year.
