Online threat, milk carton prompts early dismissal at Rittenour High School

scheduled tribe. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) — An online threat and a poor judgment in the school cafeteria prompted St. Louis County High School to dismiss students early Monday.

The Rittenauer School District revealed that they were notified of a post on social media that posed a potential threat to the high school. Following the alleged threat, the school district issued a letter to parents saying they were taking the threat seriously and cooperating fully with the police.

“As they were investigating the situation to determine whether the threat was credible, someone made a poor decision to pop the carton of milk in our cafeteria today,” said director of secondary education at Rittenauer High School, Dr. Bruce Green explained. “As a result of this students are running out of the building and calling their parents to pick them up from the school as well.”

Administrators told News 4 that they decided to fire the students in the wake of the chaos. He also said that no one was injured and no weapon was found. School officials said the student involved in the cafeteria incident would be disciplined.
