Nupur Sharma’s beheading: An inquiry has been ordered against a police officer, who is seen in a video purportedly scraping a ‘khadim’, who allegedly asked to behead now suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, To say that he was intoxicated at the time of making the statement.
Acting Director General of Police Umesh Mishra said on Thursday that Rajasthan Police Service (RPS) officer Sandeep Saraswat has been removed last night and the police’s Vigilance Wing will investigate against him.
In a video, Ajmer Dargah caretaker Salman Chishti offered his house to the one who beheaded Sharma for his controversial remarks against Prophet Muhammad.
He was arrested from his house in Khadim Mohalla in Ajmer late on Tuesday night. While being taken to the police station, Saraswat reportedly told Chishti that he was intoxicated while making the controversial video statement.
A video of officer Saraswat with Chishti surfaced on social media, following which Rajasthan Police removed him from his posting. BJP MLA from Ajmer North Vasudev Devnani shared the video clip on Facebook and termed Saraswat’s action as “height of appeasement by Rajasthan government”.
