New Delhi: The makers of ‘Bigg Boss Tamil 5’ have roped in veteran actress Ramya Krishnan to host the reality show till Kamal Haasan recovers from COVID-19. Kamal, who has hosted the show since its inception, is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai.
There were speculations that Kamal’s daughter Shruti Haasan might join his post for a few weeks. It was said that the makers had approached him and Vijay Sethupathi until the ‘Indian’ actor was cured of the virus.
Star Vijay, who aired the show, posted a new promo on social media announcing that Ramya will be hosting ‘Bigg Boss Tamil 5’ in Kamal Haasan’s absence. The ‘Hey Ram’ actor introduced Ramya as a friend who offered to host the show while undergoing treatment for COVID-19. He also thanked the actress for helping organize the fifth season of the show without a break.
Ramya Krishnan won many hearts with her stellar performance as Sivagami in SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’. Interestingly, the makers of ‘Bigg Boss Tamil’ have used Sivagami’s background score in the new promo. Check it out!
Shruti Haasan had earlier shared an update about her father’s health on Twitter. He thanked the fans for their well wishes and prayers and revealed that Kamal is recovering. He wrote on the micro-blogging site, ‘Thank you all for your prayers and prayers for my father’s health. He is recovering well and looks forward to talking to you all soon.”
