A friend of the woman, identified as Zaheer Zakir, was arrested for her alleged involvement in the murder, police said, adding that he is the son of “a prominent businessman in the country”.

Addressing a press conference to address the divergent claims on social media about the murder, SSP (Investigation) Ataur Rehman was asked about suspect Zaheer’s widely rumored drug abuse history .

In response, SSP Rehman said drug use was not an area of ​​police investigation, “When we arrested him, he was healthy and conscious. He must have had a past history. [of taking drugs] But at least this time he was fully conscious.”

A senior police officer said that before the police reached the spot, the suspect was tied with ropes by some people, who attacked him after killing Noor.

Police initially said the victim was “murdered” after being shot. Another person was also injured in the incident.
