new ownership group of Elk Ridge Resort Wants to leave an indelible mark on the resort and the golf course.

The new group consists of eight ownersfrom all SaskatchewanCalled Route2SK Inc. One of the owners says it had to be a group of Saskatchewan people occupying Elk Ridge.

“Going ahead. Really cool thinking. We’ve done a lot, a ton of work and we ain’t done yet,” said managing partner, Ryan Danenberg.

The resort is in Prince Albert National Park in North Saskatchewan just outside of Waskeseau.

Elk Ridge has signed a multi-year deal with PGA Tour Canada to host the events until 2028.

The organization recently canceled a tournament due to excessive rainwaterlogging on the course, but the owners paid $40,000 for the more than 100 golfers. The winner, Cooper Dossey of Austin, Texas, won $7,200 for shooting a best round of 62. There were also five golfers who split a pot of $3,000 for shooting an eagle on the 18th hole.

“Once you drive here, you start to relax because there is a really great sense of community,” said Darlene Tuletta, Elk Ridge Sales and Marketing Manager.

“We have more than 150 employees working here from all over the province, some from abroad. “There are different cultures working together, we overcome this,” said Elk Ridge golf pro Ryan Wells.

The resort has a clubhouse, hotel, and accommodation area filled with cabins and homes and is about a 10-minute drive from Lake Vasquesiu.

“The ownership group and all the managers are absolutely wonderful people to work with. It’s a great feeling to be here in the summer.” Shayden Smith Elk Ridge Pro Shop employee.

Danenberg says the resort should always be run by people born in Saskatchewan.

“Saskatchewan folk do it best,” Danenberg said.

He added that hosting large events is crucial to further success at Elk Ridge.

“We host, we love people, have a different mindset. We’re not afraid to talk to connect. Asking the question, ‘Where are you from? Do you know?'” said Danenberg.
