NCC now an optional subject for students of UP 10th, 12th board exams – Bharat Times Hindi News

The Uttar Pradesh Board has decided to introduce National Cadet Corps (NCC) as an optional subject for class 10 and 12 students. As per the reports, the NCC will have a separate question paper in the board exams for the academic year 2022-2023. But, let us find out about the benefits of this newly introduced theme.

Now if students choose NCC as their optional subject then their marks will be added in the mark sheet. Class 10 students can choose NCC with Science, Maths, Hindi, English and Social Science. While Class 12 Science and Commerce students will not be able to take NCC as their optional subject, Class 12 Arts/Humanities students will get this opportunity. Students taking NCC in additional subject will be given training under the guidance of NCC Directorate. It is noteworthy that after the completion of the training, they will be given a certificate.

Benefits of choosing NCC?

Those who choose NCC as their subject will get an edge in many recruitments. Candidates will get preference in Central and State job recruitments including Army. Candidates must note that they have to obtain the certificate after completing the optional subject, after which candidates with NCC certificate will get preference in the jobs.

The objective of NCC is to inculcate the ideals of character, discipline, camaraderie, spirit of courage and selfless service among the younger generation. Further, it aims to organize, train and inspire youth with leadership qualities from all walks of life, who will serve the nation, irrespective of the career they choose.

On February 9 last year, the Uttar Pradesh Board had sent a proposal to the state government to include NCC as an optional subject in both classes 9th and 11th. Later the government ordered in favor of the proposal.
