NBA Draft 2022: Johnny Davis ‘excited’ to start, will miss being closer to his family

“As busy as my days are, I’m enjoying it. Just knowing that’s probably going to be my life from now on. Just traveling places, doing this, doing this,” Davis said. “But I’m really looking forward to Thursday, especially given that I have my family and my friends with me. I think it will be a lot of fun and really exciting.”

Davis averaged 19.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 31 games for the Badgers last season. He was the 2022 Big Ten Player of the Year and a consensus All-American. A solid season has led him to draft boards and mock drafts and hopefully he can be an integral part of any team.

When asked what a 20-year-old would do miss wisconsinHe said that mainly being close to his family.

“There are so many things about Wisconsin that I’m going to miss. It was great to be in my home state. I live like two hours from campus. I used to go to school and whenever I got some time, I would go home.” Go and see my family. I would say being close to my family is something I really miss the most,” he said.

Davis could be picked up by the Washington Wizards, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, or anywhere before No. 10 or after No. 12.

Regardless, he told Fox News Digital that he would bring a winning attitude and mindset to any team that took him.

“A lot of people didn’t pick Wisconsin as good as we were last year with the number of games we won. I think it’s really cool to win 25 games in any college season under any circumstances. All I’d say is win mindset and winning culture,” he said.

Davis also made the team Panini with America ahead of the draft. He said that it was very suitable for him as he used to collect basketball cards when he was young.

“Sure. When I was little I collected cards a little bit. Me and my team, whenever we went to play in a tournament in this place called the Wisconsin Dells, they had a card with a card in their plaque. There used to be a little shop, which I actually hung in my room in my house in La Crosse. Hopefully, I’ll be able to take one of mine there,” he said.

Davis said he would collect anyone he thought was close enough to be on his wall.

“Everyone I thought was cool. I know I’d love one of Steve Nash, David Robinson, Pete Marwich. Anyone I thought was good at the time and deserved to be on my wall “
