Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief Navjot Singh Sidhu reached AICC Headquarters on Thursday to meet Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal and AICC General Secretary Punjab Harish Rawat.
Amid factionalism in Punjab Congress, Sidhu is meeting AICC general secretary Harish Rawat and senior party leader KC Venugopal to discuss organizational matters related to the party’s state unit.
Sidhu was made the Punjab Congress chief in July, despite strong opposition from the then Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.
Sidhu, however, resigned as Punjab Congress chief last month and also questioned the appointments of the Director General of Police, the state’s advocate general and “tainted” leaders.
Later, the party decided to form a coordination panel to be consulted before any major decision is taken by the Charanjit Singh Channi-led government. —with PTI
