NASCAR opens investigation into Bubba Wallace radio hack at All-Star race

NASCAR is investigating A spokesman confirmed Wednesday that an incident involving Bubba Wallace from last weekend̵7;s All-Star race occurred when an unknown person hacked into his team’s radio and made abusive statements.

NASCAR spokesman Mike Ford told The Associated Press that an investigation into the incident was launched after reports 23XI Racing Team access to radio.

According to Motorsport.com, the person said, “Go back where you came from.” “You are not wanted in NASCAR.”

Ford said the safety and racing electronics teams are investigating the hack, how it was done and how to avoid a similar situation in the future.

“We certainly take it seriously, there’s no doubt about it,” he said. “But we can’t have fans interfering with team radio and potential competition implications.”

According to Fox Sports, NASCAR did not discipline Wallace because it found he was pointing at a friend.

Wallace continues his good season with 23XI Racing.

He is 15th in points and if he continues his momentum, he is expected to reach the playoffs. A win will definitely help their chances. The Coke 600 is this weekend, and Wallace finished 14th at Charlotte last season.
