election campaign begins BJP In Manipur, party’s national president JP Nadda on Saturday said that the saffron party has written a new chapter of development in Manipur in the last four years.

Nadda was addressing a political rally in Bishnupur district after reaching Imphal in the afternoon. State assembly elections are due early next year.

“The key to the milestone achieved by the BJP is the right decision taken by the people of Manipur,” he said.

Nadda said the unrest due to political instability, gross human rights violations and corruption were the days before the BJP came to power. “However, in the last four years, peace has been restored in the state, paving the way for development,” he said.

Nadda said, “Peace and harmony in Manipur is a by-product of the BJP government, which is built on the trust and support of the people.”

He also said that Manipur is progressing rapidly on the path of development under the inclusive development policy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“The state will soon be on the railways map and work is on for the development of 16 highways,” he said, adding that all this was possible with the restoration of peace.

“Peace is achieved when right decision is taken at right time. If people give power to wrong party, it is like signing their own death warrant. I appeal to the people of Manipur to remember those dark days. I do what they left behind.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren said that the people of Manipur are sleeping peacefully today as the law and order situation is improving a lot in the state. He credited central leaders, especially Modi, for bringing about such a positive change in a short span of time.

The election rally was attended by all BJP leaders and MPs from the state, among others.

The BJP President, who is on a two-day visit, will also inaugurate the Imphal headquarters of the newly formed party apart from discussing the election strategies.
