A special court here has rejected the interim bail plea of former MLA Shahnawaz Rana, accused of attempt to rape a woman, and asked her to surrender before it.
A non-bailable warrant has already been issued against Rana for not appearing in the court.
Rejecting the interim bail plea of the former MLA, Special Judge Gopal Upadhyay asked him to surrender before the court.
According to the prosecution, a case was registered against Rana in 2001 based on the complaint of the victim.
In her complaint lodged at the Civil Lines police station, the victim has alleged that Rana called her to Muzaffarnagar on the pretext of getting her a job and tried to rape her with another person, Sartaj. PTI
